I have to share some beautiful pictures of the cherry blossoms....It was absolutely amazing to see in person. I can cross it off of the list of things I thought I'd never be able to experience.  Kai and I had a picnic under the cherry blossoms too with our dog. It was romantic and a lot of fun.

I leave you with a delicious panda nikuman! Hope you enjoyed a small peek into Japanese springtime!

I've been keeping fairly busy this past month...I'm going to be opening my own Etsy store for my needle felted critters! These are all of my original designs based off of my drawings. I'm very happy with how they have all turned out. Still trying to think of some appropriate prices considering how long they take me to create.

Unless you all live under a rock, I'm sure you are aware of the horrible earthquake and tsunami that has greatly affected Japan. Luckily, I am located in Tokyo and I was not scheduled to stay in northern Japan until much later this spring. The town I was going to be staying in was damaged by the affects of the earthquake, so I'm going to wait to see if I can still go. If not, I'll just be staying in Tokyo after all. An excuse to go out to the countryside would be nice though...Tokyo is doing just fine. It feels like life is normal for the most part.

Sometimes I feel the need to share my love of  living in Japan...
Here are a few recent things I've enjoyed or experienced as of late.

My friend Miki taught me how to needle-felt little animals...so I'm thinking of opening an Etsy shop soon!

Constantly grabbing inspiration from cute Japanese stores and houses...

Enjoying good food and trying new things...

Winning cute prizes in Akihabara...My apartment is cluttered with cuteness.

My husband and I adopted a dog! :D

She's a 13 month old maltese and her name is Miruku (mee-roo-kuu) which means "milk" in Japanese.

Her original owner could no longer care for her. It was a very stressful environment with two large dogs whom were sick. Hopefully she receives enough attention from us.

One interesting fact...She only understands Japanese commands.

Just some random dog commands in Japanese you might find interesting...

Osuwari - "Sit!"
Jampu - "Jump!"
Dame - "No or Don't"
Iiko - "Good dog"
Oide - "Come"
Mite - "Look"
Booru wa - "Where's the ball?"
Totte koi - "Go get it!"
Ote - "Shake paw"
Mate - "Stay!"
Onegai wa - "Beg for it?"
